"Some of the ads for the super bowl were misandrist messes. Here’s an example. Please use the comments to point out the many ways this ad is anti-male. Please also offer links to other commercials that were anti male and I will add them to the post."

'Dr Rüdiger Maas, from the German think tank the Institute for Generational Research, says parties on the left often focus on themes such as feminism, equality and women's rights.
"Overall, men don't see themselves in these themes," he tells us. "That is why they have a tendency to vote further right."
Hard, populist right parties have also done well in countries such as France, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Italy.
"Sixty per cent of young men under 30 would consider voting for the far right in EU countries and this is much higher than the share among women," says Prof Abou-Chadi, in analysis drawn from a subset of the 2024 European Election Study.'

'The issue of obligatory mobilization of Ukrainian women liable for military service is not on the agenda. Female Ukrainians may join the Army only consensually.
This was stated by Fedir Venislavskyi, a member of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, who spoke at a briefing in Kyiv, Ukrinform reports.
“The issue of conscripting women liable for military service was resolved by parliament through a clear imperative norm of the law because ahead of passing amendments to legislation on military registration and military service, it was stipulated in the Cabinet resolution that women can be mobilized exclusively with their consent,” Venislavskyi emphasized.'

'Telling men they give you the “ick” is driving a hidden mental health crisis, experts have claimed.
The expression is used to describe a feeling of disgust or repulsion at a specific behaviour and moved from a popular slang word to being recognised by the Cambridge Dictionary in 2024.
It is particularly used by young women to describe things they find unattractive in men.
Across social media, users have shared their lists of things young men and teenagers do that give them the dreaded ick.
Wearing skinny jeans, running for the bus, putting on a baby voice and doing doggy paddle in a swimming pool are among the most commonly featured.
One viral “ick-list” included things such as drinking milk, applying lip balm and waiting for the green man before crossing the road.
Dan Somers, the founder of men’s mental health charity, Manup?, said it was the “kind of language that can cause men and young boys to really lose self-worth”.

'WASHINGTON / February 5, 2025 – Recent airplane tragedies in Washington, DC and Philadelphia have placed the public spotlight on biased and discriminatory hiring practices in the airline industry. The problem can be traced back to 2011 when the Obama Administration introduced Diversity, Equity and Inclusion policies in the federal government via Executive Order 13583, “Establishing a Coordinated Government-Wide Initiative to Promote Diversity, and Inclusion in the Federal Workforce.” (1)
The Obama order targeted all federal agencies, including the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). As a result, the FAA’s hiring and training process went from a skilled-based system to hire air traffic controllers, and replacing it with a new approach designed to favor one candidate over another based on race and sex. '“I don’t know, and truthfully, I’m not sure, I’m not sure if that’s possible, to be honest. I think that’s been seriously eroding for a while,” Fetterman said. “And in some cases, in the conversations I’ve had, a lot of people, they don’t even want to say it publicly, but they just feel like, you know, the other side seems like it’s like, ‘Men, well, that men’s the problem. Men are to blame, or their masculinity is toxic. Or unless you’re able to conform to our very strict kinds of definition of what we think’s appropriate, well then, hey, I’m going to find an alternative.'”
“And they’ve done that. That’s absolutely true. And once we’ve kind of turned their back on that demographic, it’s going to be difficult to rebuild and replace that with those voters,” he continued. “Because I think that migration has been ongoing phenomenon for several years and that was been in front and center, you know, in part of the election in 24.”'

'So, what’s is toxic masculinity and what's wrong with it?
Toxic masculinity isn’t just not talking about feelings with your bros—it’s a psychological trap that keeps men emotionally stunted, relationally dysfunctional, and, at its worst, self-destructive. But we can't talk about toxic masculinity without discussing why some people are so fixated on it as a concept.
From a young age, boys are told to "man up", which is just code for shut up about your feelings. This is repression in action. Bottled-up emotions don’t disappear; they resurface as rage, detachment, or self-destruction.
Rigid masculinity often starts with a cold, distant, or hyper-masculine father figure. To win approval, boys either imitate toughness or reject softness—either way, they inherit an emotional handicap that plays out in adulthood.'

'In 2017, during his first term, Trump introduced rules that strengthened protections for students accused of sexual misconduct and reduced the liability placed on schools to respond to reported misconduct. While Trump’s proposed rule changes didn’t technically take effect until 2020, sexual violence researcher Dr. Nicole Bedera told Jezebel that in her field research of college campuses during the first Trump administration, most schools “immediately used the proposed rule changes in 2017 as grounds to not investigate any sexual misconduct allegations at all.”
In 2022, the Biden administration then introduced Title IX rules that rescinded some of Trump’s and also expanded Title IX to include protections for LGBTQ and pregnant students. The majority of Republican-controlled states challenged Biden’s rules and, in January, a federal judge in Kentucky officially scrapped them.

'America has always been hijacked by the violent fragility of a few terrified, mediocre, white men.
They need sanitized safe spaces to protect themselves from a changing, vibrant world that sees them as equals and not superiors. They must ban books that shatter their ego and replace them with fairy tales to prove to themselves and to the world that they are “the master race.” Tragically, their superiority cannot be proven based on merit alone so they must rig the system to keep out women, Black people, and communities of color.

'You see, the mediocre white man is a figure that we, as Black women, have had to contend with all of our lives. No matter how qualified I am for a job, white men have told me to my face that I only got the role because I’m Black and a woman.
“You're just a DEI hire” are words I have often heard.
They’ve refused to acknowledge or accept that I am the best-qualified person for the job. Many Black women will tell you they’ve had a similar experience.
...
They conveniently associate DEI with incompetence, corruption, and unethical behaviors. Non-DEI, aka white men, no matter how unqualified they are, are associated with competence, non-corrupt and ethical behaviors. Excuse me; we must not be talking about Trump himself, Pete Hegseth, JD Vance, and a host of other white men who have been elevated into positions of power within this administration.

'However, the nexus between masculinity and violent aggression struck me as unfortunate messaging, given the global violence against women. Plus, genderising the qualities that employees need to succeed seems reductive.
Overall, the feminine against the masculine binary idea reduces us all to unhelpful archetypes. Some men display what has been tagged as traditionally feminine traits, and women display so-called male characteristics.
Despite the latest cruel announcement in the States that there are only two genders supposedly to protect women in some cynical version of benevolent sexism, we are all as human beings plotted along a continuum of behaviour, a nuanced gradient on which every person functions and acts at different levels be that professionally, personally or sexually.'

'If you’re looking to do the opposite of Zuckerberg and eschew tired notions of masculinity in the workplace, a great place to start is with what you wear. Small, intentional wardrobe choices can subtly shift the image you project, setting the tone for a more thoughtful and inclusive working environment.
You could do as many Gen Z men do already, and embrace pearls. But if you’re working in a typical British office, statement jewellery might not be the right fit. Instead, focus on subtle shifts in your everyday staples, pairing tailored pieces with softer items — chinos with an unstructured blazer, or suit trousers with loafers, a shirt and a quarter-zip sweater. Minor changes in cut, fabric and tone can inject softness and avoid macho clichés, without the need for a sartorial overhaul.'
