SF Bay mother convicted of assault... acquitted of 1st degree murder

Story here. Excerpt:
"A woman who pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity after throwing her three children into San Francisco Bay was acquitted Tuesday of first-degree murder but convicted of assault.
Tuesday's verdicts, which came after seven days of deliberation, do not make any conclusions about the woman's sanity. After determining her guilt, jurors will then decide whether she was legally sane at the time of the deaths."

Woman plans to kill and successfully carries out her plans on her three children and she is NOT GUILTY of murder.
Even if she was guilty of murder she'd be spared the death penalty and likely spared life in prison.
Man kills one child and taxpayers pay for the state to kill the man (in States with the death penalty which is the case here).
Woman kills 3 children and taxpayer pay to help this poor woman cope with her troubles.
Even though I am opposed to the death penalty for anyone, I am in favor of equal treatment under the law and therefore if the death penalty the sought after solution and is the likely outcome for a male in these circumstances then it should also be the sought after and likely outcome for a female in these circumstances until we all collectively come to our senses and once again abolish the death penalty.
The general public just cannot bring it's self to hold women culpable for the evil deeds they commit. We just can't seem to hold women accountable for anything.
